I didn't build this agency in a boardroom.
My name is Hannah; I’m the marketer who founded Forty & Co.
I grew up on farms in Lancashire, playing out on moors, getting muddy. The Forest of Bowland is now home. My grandad was army. My husband is Royal Marines. My best friend grew up in a military family. Countryside, heritage, and the kind of people who build things properly, don't make a fuss about it, and don’t take nonsense, that's the world I come from.
So when I started working with heritage makers, outdoor brands and craft businesses, it didn't feel like a niche. It felt like coming home.
I've worked in marketing since 2002.
I went freelance in 2017, doing it all myself, for brands I believed in, building a reputation the only way that lasts: results. Over time the work grew bigger than one person could handle properly. So I built a team. That became Forty & Co.
We are not a city agency that works with country brands.
We are country people who happen to be very good at marketing. There's a difference, and if you've ever briefed an agency that didn't quite get what you'd built, you'll know exactly what that difference feels like.
We get the brands we work with because we live this. The landscape, the craft, the identity, the stubbornness it takes to build something worth being proud of. We understand why it matters, and we know how to make sure other people understand it too.

Why Forty & Co?
The name Forty & Co is rooted in 40 Commando Royal Marines.
One of our co-founders, Hannah’s husband, served in the Royal Marines. So it is a reference to where part of our story began, but it also carries the values we wanted to build the agency around: discipline, resilience, adaptability, loyalty, teamwork and high standards.
Those values matter to us.
They shape the way we approach the work, communicate with clients and build long-term relationships. Marketing may be creative, but behind effective marketing there must also be structure, consistency and trust.
The “Co” represents collaboration. It represents the clients we work with, the team we have built and the belief that good marketing is never created in isolation.
So, Forty & Co is more than a name. It is a reminder of what we stand for: purpose, care and a strong sense of responsibility to the businesses that trust us.
